Preparing Your Home for the White Stuff (Snow)

and the Cold (Winter)!

Preparing your home for snow and cold

If you are from Minnesota, you know that every fall there are two words that you shouldn't speak... that white stuff.. that stuff that comes from the sky that isn't rain, the cold season... I think you get it :) If you aren't from Minnesota, I am talking about snow and winter. sigh.... I said it...

Either way we say it (or don't say it), it comes every year. That first snow is not wanted, but so pretty to watch. Most of us aren't ready... (Mentally...) But, my question to you, is your house ready? Have you done what you need to for your house this fall?

There are 11 (Simple and Easy) things you can do to help prepare your house for this white stuff that will inevitably blanket the ground we walk on.

1) Clean out your gutters

2) Clockwise Ceiling Fan

3) Window insulation Film

4) Draft Guards for your doors

5) Replace your filters

6) Weatherstrip Tape

7) Fiberglass Insulation

8) Programmable Thermostat

9) Caulk it

10) Flush out your water heater (there are mixed opinions on this... if your water heater isn't new, then some don't recommend that you start this annual task. Others recommend it regardless the age of your water heater. Do some research and then make the decision for yourself.)

11) Chimney Balloon
