WHAT should YOU do???

Are you just sick of renting? 

Are you wanting a place where you can paint the walls whatever color you choose?

Have you been thinking about buying for a looooong time and you're at that point when you are ready?

Are you at that age when you feel the pressure starting to mount... Are you done with school and now you get to decide what to do with the rest of your life?

Buying a home or continuing to rent is just one of the myriad of decisions YOU get you make. I hope you are excited!

Some questions to ask yourself...

1) Do I have a career or solid job in place?

2) Do I have money saved for a down payment? (if you're answer is no, there ARE down payment resources available if you qualify)

3) Do you know where you want to live?

4) Do you have room mates that could live with you to help you with your mortgage or pay it down faster? 

5) What are rental rates where you want to live? (chances are that you could buy something and pay less per month for your mortgage than you would for rent! It IS worth exploring this option)

6) Do you want to buy a house that could be used as a future income stream? (Maybe you don't know where your life is going to be in 5-10 years... married? kids? career growth? Does that mean you should not buy a house today? Not necessarily, you could buy today and then when life changes ~it will~ you can rent this property out ~manage the rental yourself or pay a company for a fee each month~ and use it as an income stream)

Housingwire.com posted an article that stated that 93% of people are happier as homeowners than when they were renters. 80% of homeowners wouldn't go back to renting.

Homeownership isn't for everyone... Renting isn't for everyone... There is no box I am going to try to place you in. Yes, I'm a Realtor and I would love for you to buy a home for all the financial benefits I see for you. BUT, that doesn't mean that it is the right decision for you... right now... for where you are at in your life... YOU are the only that can decide what the right decision is for you.
