Asking for Help!!!

Motivational Monday Asking for Help

One of the greatest barriers to connection is the cultural importance we place on "going it alone." Somehow we've come to equate success with not needing anyone. Many of us are willing to extend a helping hand, but we're very reluctant to reach out for help when we need it ourselves. It's as if we've divided the world into "those who offer help" and "those who need help." The truth is that we are both. ~Brene Brown

Help! Help!! Help!!! Think of a time that you have needed help and not asked for it. Why? Why did you not ask for help? The possibilities for 'why' are too many to list. We all have our own reasons... We all have our own experiences that make us who we are today. Whatever your reasons, whatever your experiences, know that 'asking for help' is not a sign of weakness. It's not a sign that you are incompetent or incapable.

From what I've seen, it isn't so much the act of asking that paralyzes us--it's what lies beneath: the fear of being vulnerable, the fear of rejection, the fear of looking needy or weak. ~Amanda Palmer

Let's change our mindset, let's change our thoughts about 'asking for help'. Asking for help means that you are smart! Asking for help means that you are brave! Asking for help means that you are aware of your limits! Asking for help means that you are ready to grow and learn more!

Be strong enough to stand alone, smart enough to know when you need help and brave enough to ask for it. ~Ziad K. Abdelnour

Ask for Help not because you are weak, but because you want to remain strong. ~Les Brown

Let's also help change the mindset and thoughts of others. If someone asks us for help, let's give them the help that they so bravely asked for. Let's not belittle or demean, instead praise and acknowledge the strength it took for them to ask. Let's offer help to others that we see struggling and again acknowledge the strength it takes to accept help. (understanding that some may not be ready for help yet, so be sure to listen to and respect their answer).

When we feel weak, we drop our heads on the shoulders of others. Don't get mad when someone does that. Be honored. For that person trusted you enough to, even if subtly, ask you for help. ~Lori Goodwin

Build the life that you want in your mind! Once you have a clear picture of that life, take the steps every day to build the reality that you want. Your reality starts with you! You have the power!

Annnnd yeeeeees, I've been asked... "you're a Realtor, why are you writing a blog titled 'Motivational Monday'?" To answer the question... Over the years, I've run into many different people, all with very different personalities. I've found that people that have an optimistic and positive outlook on life are happier people. I want to do my part to empower others to be positive. I  want to do my part to empower others to believe in the power of affirmations. I want to do my part to help people believe in themselves again. I want to do my part to make the world a happier place... even if it's just for one person, I will have made a difference.

Have a Blessed Week! Remember, Success is yours if you are willing to work for it!!!
