Motivational Monday Stay Positive

About a month ago I asked people what gets them motivated. I received many different responses... The top 5 responses are below: Since then, I have been discussing the different responses. Last week I discussed creating lists to stay motivated. This week, I am going to talk about Keeping a Positive Mindset. 

     1) Working in an Organized Space - Done

     2) Sharing Goals with Someone Else - Done

     3) Creating Lists - Done

     4) Keeping a Positive Mindset - This weeks Topic :)

     5) Debrief Life and Work goals at the end of the day. Next weeks topic :)

The person who sent in this weeks strategy topic stated that they set a time (on their phone) to sound every 1-2 hours. When the timer sounds, they do a mental check to determine where their mind is. Are they still positive and on track with their goals for the day? If so, they continue. If not, they stop what they are doing and re-evaluate to gather momentum to be where they want to be. 

 

Psychologytoday.com has an amazing article that adds to the idea above. This article discusses 6 things people can do to be Positive!

1) Practice Gratitude - Be thankful for everything you have. Big and small alike!

2) Two Steps Forward - If you find yourself thinking something negative, think two positive things to offset the negative thought.

3) Positive Posture - How are you sitting? Standing?

4) Smile - Fake it till you make it :) It works :) 

5) Ditch the Crabs - Surround yourself with Positive people and let go of those that are pulling you down.

6) Do Something Kind - Help a family member. Help a friend. Help a co-worker. Help a stranger. Helping others makes us feel good. 

 

Pick one, pick two, just get started somewhere! Eventually adopt all 6 practices into your life and see where it takes you! 

Take a deep breath and embrace your life and all that it brings! Be courageous! Be Bold! Reach for your dreams! 

Annnnd yeeeeees, I've been asked... "you're a Realtor, why are you writing a blog titled 'Motivational Monday'?" To answer the question... Over the years, I've run into many different people, all with very different personalities. I've found that people that have an optimistic and positive outlook on life are happier people. I want to do my part to empower others to be positive. I  want to do my part to empower others to believe in the power of affirmations. I want to do my part to help people believe in themselves again. I want to do my part to make the world a happier place... even if it's just for one person, I will have made a difference.
